After a long break (more than a year) I try to continue my blog today and at the beginning I present my two latest works in this post.
The first motif comes from my close surroundings which offer a lot for an observer to discover. It is the town of Besigheim, whose history goes back to Roman times. The pictures show the town from the opposite bank of the river Enz at sunset. The play of light on the houses and their reflections in the river fascinated me so much that I decided to capture these impressions in a painting. Of course, this is studio work based on the photo I took on location, the time until sunset was short and the task challenging.
The second painting presents the same motif, but very gently transformed towards the art of the first half of the twentieth century. The idea came about when I looked at the first phase of the first picture and immediately knew that I would paint the motif again, exactly like this. I didn't want to imitate a certain direction like cubism, the transformation is not abstract enough for that. I wanted to get a certain geometric composition that reminded me of the original motif.

Nach langer Pause (über einem Jahr) versuche ich heute meinen Blog fortzusetzen und am Anfang stelle ich in diesem Post meine zwei letzte Arbeiten vor.
Das erste Motiv stammt aus meiner nahen Umgebung die für einen Beobachter viel zum entdecken anbietet. Es ist die Stadt Besigheim, deren Geschichte bis in die Römische Zeiten reicht. Die Bilder stellen die Stadt von der gegenüberliegendem Enz Ufer bei untergehender Sonne vor. Das Lichtspiel auf der Häusern und deren Spiegelungen im Fluss haben mich so fasziniert dass ich mich entschlossen habe die Eindrücke in einem Bild fest zu halten. Selbstverständlich ist das Atelierarbeit anhand vom Foto das ich Vorort gemacht habe, die Zeit bis zum Sonnenuntergang war knapp und die Aufgabe anspruchsvoll.
Das zweite Bild stellt den gleichen Motiv vor, wurde jedoch sehr sanft in Richtung der Kunst aus der erster hälfte des zwanzigsten Jahrhundert transformiert. Die Idee entstand als ich die erste Fase des ersten Bildes angeschaut habe und sofort wusste das ich noch einmal das Motiv malen werde, genau so. Ich wollte hier keine bestimmte Richtung wie Kubismus nachahmen, dafür ist die Transformation nicht Abstract genug. Ich wollte eine bestimmte Geometrische Composition erhalten das an den Ursprungsmotiv erinnert.
