Forest in the evening

The painting depicts an abstract forest landscape characterised by vertical, softly blurred lines. Slender tree trunks stretch across almost the entire height of the picture, conveying an impression of depth and movement, as if the forest were blurring in the light. The colour palette consists mainly of warm yellow, ochre and orange tones in the lower part of the picture, reminiscent of autumn leaves or forest floor illuminated by evening light. Towards the top, these warm colours transition into muted green and yellow tones, suggesting a soft light source in the background. The shapes are deliberately kept blurred, giving the picture an atmospheric, almost dreamlike effect. Instead of realistic details, the mood is in the foreground: tranquillity, warmth and a quiet melancholy. The vertical structure of the trees contrasts with the soft application of paint, creating a harmonious balance between order and dissolution. Overall, the painting conveys a poetic impression of a forest in warm light, possibly in the early morning or late evening hours.

Birch forest

The impressionist painting depicts a light-flooded birch forest, predominantly rendered in shades of green and yellow. Slender birch trunks run vertically through the composition, structuring the pictorial space without imposing a strict order. Instead, a lively interplay of light, colour and movement emerges. The sun's rays seem to fall through the loose canopy and literally vibrate on the birch leaves. 

Even the tree bark is not pure white, but refracts in a delicate interplay of white, yellow, purple and blue tones. These cool and warm colours overlap and give the trunks a three-dimensional effect without losing their lightness. Overall, the painting conveys the impression of a warm, sunny moment in the forest, captured as a fleeting perception, characterised by light, colour and movement.

Forest in the morning

The landscape depicts a forest in the early hours of the morning. The representation is deliberately simplified and dispenses with detailed elaborations. The trees are vertically distorted, which makes their shapes appear elongated and creates a rhythmic, almost abstract structure. The color palette ranges from light to dark shades of green and reflects the depth of the forest and the subdued morning light. The tree trunks are predominantly brownish, interspersed with bluish nuances, which gives the picture a cool, calm atmosphere. Overall, the work conveys a quiet, meditative mood and the impression of a forest awakening.

Mainau Garden 4.

The painting depicts a lush rhododendron landscape on the flower island of Mainau in Lake Constance. The foreground is dominated by large bushes with bright white and purple flowers, whose full inflorescences appear almost pulsating. The leaves are rendered in a variety of green tones, which makes the vivid colors of the flowers stand out even more. Several trees and smaller shrubs extend into the sides of the picture, their softly blurred silhouettes creating a harmonious, slightly diffuse atmosphere that emphasizes the natural beauty of the scene.

At Königssee 1. & At Königssee 2.

The two small plein air landscapes depict Lake Königssee near St. Bartholomä on a rare sunny autumn day. The clear light emphasises the warm, golden brown tones of late autumn and makes the steep rock faces and still water shine particularly brightly. The paintings capture the tranquil atmosphere of the Berchtesgadener Land – a moment between seasons when the landscape appears both gentle and powerful. The paintings were created during a short hiking holiday, when I took advantage of the only sunny day to capture the mood and colours of the lake directly on site.

Rosebush 3.

The impressionist painting depicts a lush bush of white roses bathed in soft morning light. The flowers are backlit, so that the delicate, almost translucent petals absorb the sunlight and glow with a warm, reddish sheen. This subtle glow gives the roses an almost living, inner warmth and forms a charming contrast to the cool freshness of the early day. The background is kept in a modern, slightly geometric style. Areas in various shades of green form a harmonious composition that adds both depth and structure without losing the natural character of the motif. The shades of green – from muted olive green to bright emerald green – subtly correspond with the white and pink reflections of the roses. The loose, impasto brushstrokes and the play of light and colour create an atmosphere of quiet vitality. The image appears both natural and abstract – a moment between reality and perception, captured in the fleeting splendour of the morning.

Irises dancing in the sun

The painting depicts a sun-drenched flower bed in which light blue iris blossoms shine in all their glory. Their elegant petals appear almost weightless, as if dancing in the warm light of day. Scattered among the slender stems of the irises are spherical ornamental onion flowers, which add charming accents with their round, purple-violet structure. The impressionistic painting style brings the play of light and shadow to life: shimmering colors and a soft glow create an atmosphere of lightness and movement. The picture conveys the impression of a summer's day when the flowers sway to the rhythm of the sunlight.
