Since I could not make a trip to France in 2020 I started to explore the area where I live. Corona conditional I have quite a lot of time available and I urgently needed new motifs for my pictures. At the beginning of summer 2020 I took a short hike on the banks of the Rhine near Karlsruhe. As an effect of the hike a few Études / sketches and larger images were created.

Da ich im Jahr 2020 keine Reise nach Frankreich unternehmen konnte habe ich angefangen die Gegend wo ich wohne zu erkunden . Corona bedingt habe ich ziemlich viel Zeit zur Verfügung und ich brauchte dringend neue Motive für meine Bilder. Anfang Sommer 2020 habe ich eine kurze Wanderung am Rhein Ufer in der nähe von Karlsruhe unternommen. Als Effekt der Wanderung entstanden sind ein paar Études / Skizzen und größeren Bilder entstanden.

Memories from Provence / Errinerungen aus Provence 1.

In 2020 and 2021, unfortunately, I could not make a trip to France and especially Provence because of various complications that have to do with Corona. Here are the last pictures I painted in France or later in my studio. I hope that the pandemic will be over in 2022 and life will return for all and I can travel to France again.

Im Jahr 2020 und 2021 konnte ich leider wegen verschiedener Komplikationen die mit Corona zu tun haben keine Reise nach Frankreich und vor allem Provence unternehmen. Hier noch die letzten Bilder die ich noch in Frankreich oder oder später in meinem Atelier gemalt habe. Ich hoffe dass die Pandemie im 2022 vorbei wird und das leben wieder für alle zurückkommt und ich wieder nach Frankreich reisen kann.

Reflexion in the pond

Just finisched - my second painting from the series of pictures with reflections of nature in the water surface. This time I decided on a "panorama format", for practical reasons as a diptych. Like the first picture of the series, I painted the picture in the style of the impressionists with a multi-coloured glaze underpainting to achieve a more lively character. The leaves on the surface of the water are to strengthen the spatial character of the motif.

Gerade fertig geworden - mein zweites Bild aus der Serie von Bildern mit Spiegelungen der Natur in der Wasseroberfläche. Diesmal habe ich mich für ein "Panoramaformat" entschieden, aus praktischen Gründen als Diptychon. Wie das erste Bild der Serie habe ich das Bild im Stil der Impressionisten mit einer mehrfarbigen Lasuruntermalung gemalt, um einen lebendigeren Charakter zu erreichen. Die Blätter auf der Wasseroberfläche sollen den räumlichen Charakter des Motivs verstärken.

Autumn Vibes

My latest picture, just a week fresh. It is the first of a planned series of pictures that should show the reflections of nature in the water surface of ponds or rivers. Here I captured the mood of an autumn day in the late afternoon and the vibration of the reflected trees and sky on the pond surface.

I painted the picture in the style of the impressionists with a violet underpainting, which gives the picture a calm character (in the original the colours are more subdued than in the photo).

Mein neuster Bild, gerade eine Woche frisch. Es ist erster aus neu geplanter Bilderreihe die die Spiegelungen der Natur in der Wasserfläche der Teiche oder Flüsse darstellen sollte. Hier habe ich die Stimmung eines Herbsttages am spätem Nachmittag einfangen, und die Vibration der gespiegelten Bäume und Himmels auf der Teichoberfläche.

Das Bild habe ich im Stil der Impressionisten gemalt mit einer violetten Untermalung, damit bekommt das Bild ruhigen Charakter (im Original sind die Farben mehr gedämpfter als auf dem Foto).
