Cassis - Plage du Bistouan
The motif, the view of the beach “Plage du Bestouan” in Cassis. The beach is my favorite place during my stays in Cassis. The foreground is dominated by the massive limestone cliffs of the beach, washed by the powerful waves of the sea. The spray foams and splashes dramatically, the movement and energy of the water are clearly perceptible. The bay stretches out in the middle ground, its turquoise waters glistening in the sunlight. Cap Canaille, the landmark of Cassis, rises majestically in the background. The steep cliffs catch the light of the low sun. The colors fade slightly in the distance. Cap Canaille is like a protective wall framing the bay.

Delphinium & sage
After a long break I am trying to continue this blog again. I retired a year ago and am now fully occupied with painting and have a little more time for the blog. Apart from the blog I still have to update my work on SAATCHIART, SINGULART and recently on ARTFINDER, and of course my own online shop site. From this post on I will only write the texts in English, as most of the visitors come from abroad anyway and nowadays in all web browsers you can translate them automatically.
It's quite difficult to post something interesting from the daily studio life that doesn't mirror the content of my "online shop" page. At first I try to give a little more information about the paintings, their motives and other information. Later I will try to document a bit more about the creation process of the works.
The painting is my last work (end of March 2024). The motif comes from the botanical garden in Augsburg where I was visiting my family last year. It shows the delphinium and sage flowers in a border. I think that a rather uninteresting photo has not turned into a bad painting :).

The Red Line
The recent events at the national and international level and the behavior of our politicians have inspired me to paint this picture. Almost all politicians and public figures constantly talk about a red line that should not be crossed, but are the first to cross the lines.

New Abstract Paintings - in ACRYL
Due to the cramped conditions in my studio - too little space to dry the oil paintings, especially the large formats, I have thought to work with the acrylic paints and at the same time to paint the large formats without stretcher. As thought, so also made and here below the first three acrylic paintings. I have continued here the series of Geometric Abstractions, first of flat fields with reduced color palette. In addition, I have in mind to incorporate a three-dimensional depth and possibly perspective in the abstract images.

50's
I had an idea to paint abstract pictures with geometric design forms from the 50s. I realized the idea in the two paintings.

Garden in Giverny - inspired by Claude Monet
The gray sky and bad weather at the beginning of the year motivated me to paint a completely different landscape than the one behind the window. I decided to paint Monet's garden in Giverny, which appears in many variations in the paintings of Claude Monet.
