Mainau Garden 1.

This impressionist painting shows the lush blooms of the rhododendrons on the island of Mainau  (Lake Constance) in full bloom. The bright colors of the flowers dominate the scene, with pink, purple, white and red glowing in harmonious interplay. The painting style is loose and flowing, with short, visible brushstrokes that reinforce the impression of movement and light. The rhododendron bushes spread out in the foreground, their voluminous clusters of flowers appearing almost alive. Pond at golf course

The impressionist painting shows a picturesque bank of a pond on a sunny early fall day. Delicate shrubs and trees grow on the shore, depicted in various shades of green and orange. A sunny meadow opens up in the background, glowing in a soft light. Behind it stretches a forest with trees in warm autumn colors such as yellow, orange and red, creating a harmonious and lively scene. The water of the pond is littered with countless autumn leaves that vary in color from brown to red to gold. These leaves float gently on the surface of the water and form a lively mosaic. The clear blue of the sky is reflected between the leaves and shimmers through the gaps.

Pond shore

The impressionist painting shows a peaceful scene on the banks of a pond surrounded by lush vegetation. The densely overgrown bank only takes up about 20 percent of the picture and is covered with various plants and shrubs. These plants are in soft, calming shades of green and create a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Most of the picture is dominated by the reflection of these plants and the shore on the smooth water surface of the pond. The reflection emphasizes the harmony and tranquillity of the scene. The colors in the reflection are as soft and subtle as those of the shore, creating a cohesive and harmonious image. Cassis - Plage du Bistouan

The motif, the view of the beach “Plage du Bestouan” in Cassis. The beach is my favorite place during my stays in Cassis. The foreground is dominated by the massive limestone cliffs of the beach, washed by the powerful waves of the sea. The spray foams and splashes dramatically, the movement and energy of the water are clearly perceptible. The bay stretches out in the middle ground, its turquoise waters glistening in the sunlight. Cap Canaille, the landmark of Cassis, rises majestically in the background. The steep cliffs catch the light of the low sun. The colors fade slightly in the distance. Cap Canaille is like a protective wall framing the bay.

In the botanical Garden 2.

This motif also comes from the botanical garden in Augsburg (Germany), the picture shows the beautiful flower border in late summer. I am constantly refining my impressionistic painting technique.

Delphinium & sage

The painting is my last work (end of March 2024). The motif comes from the botanical garden in Augsburg where I was visiting my family last year. It shows the delphinium and sage flowers in a border. I think that a rather uninteresting photo has not turned into a bad painting :).

SPATIAL GEOMETRIC ABSTRACTIONS

With these paintings I have begun to deal with the spatial forms. In the first place I look at the composition of the individual and possibly more or less complex groups of geometric shapes, then I determine whether the shapes are transparent or opaque. The whole is rounded off with the selection of colors.
Decisive for me is also certain reduction of the selected colors and surfaces.
